The Boby by B-Line is one of the most iconic mobile storage units in Italian design. Designed by Joe Colombo in 1970, it remains a highly practical solution for people who need organisation, flexibility and quick access to many small objects.
It is not a fixed drawer unit that has to stay in one place. Thanks to its polypropylene casters, it can move easily next to a desk, workbench, children’s room, creative studio, shop, medical space or professional interior. Its injection-moulded ABS drawers and open compartments help organise papers, tools, samples, art materials, products, personal objects and everyday essentials.
One of Boby’s greatest strengths is adaptability. It is available in different heights, many colours and several drawer combinations, making it easy to choose the right version for the way the space is used. A lower version can work beside or under a desk, while taller versions offer greater storage capacity for more demanding environments.
Its presence in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York and Triennale in Milan confirms its importance as a design object. For everyday use, however, its value is very clear: Boby keeps things organised, moves easily around the room and brings a more lively, useful and distinctive storage solution into homes and professional spaces.
