The Amami by Artemide is a table lamp that appears simple at first, but its value lies in the way light works through the material. The base and diffuser are made of opaline polycarbonate, creating a single soft form that illuminates without harshness.
The design by Naoto Fukasawa does not rely on many lines or strong details. Instead, Amami works through clarity and calmness. The light passes through the different layers and thicknesses of the material, creating softer and denser areas of brightness. This gives the lamp depth without making it visually complicated.
It can be placed on a bedside table, entrance console, shelf, side table, living room surface or hotel room furniture. It is especially suitable for spaces where the lamp should provide atmosphere rather than strong, directional light. It is not a task lamp. It works more as a calm luminous presence for evening use, hospitality settings and quieter moments at home or in a professional interior.
With a 390 mm diameter and 300 mm height, it has enough presence on a surface without feeling heavy. The white opaline material makes it easy to combine with wood, stone, textiles, minimal spaces and warmer interiors.
Amami is a good choice when a table lamp needs to provide soft light and keep the space calm. It suits homes, boutique hotels, bedrooms, living rooms and hospitality spaces where light should work as atmosphere, not as a strong technical solution.
